So I had an hour to spare and a nice new camera on me: figured I’d get out there and grab a portrait of someone.
Unfortunetly I hadn’t considered how cold it was and there was no one about. So instead here’s a picture of the pier under grey skies

Much a like how night will follow day, I bought a new camera. The Fuji X-H1. And it’s awesome.
I may have even recorded a Vlog about it. Don’t laugh, it’s only my second ever video!
Before I discovered that even tho it’s winter and there’s nothing happening, it was over £5 to park my car there! So I moved. That’s 2 coffee’s!!
So my personal photography hit a bit of a wall recently. I needed something to spark me out of my winter funk.
I thought about it. Searched Instagram for inspiration. And realised I wasn’t documenting the one thing I love that isn’t breathing (or a camera): coffee.
So I only live about 40 minutes from Herne Bay, and yet have never been. Nice place, will definitely go back during golden hour for some proper shooting.
Fuji XPro2 + 23 & 50mm lenses.
So I had 2 client meetings in London yesterday, which meant an opportunity to get a few hours street shooting in. Took the Fuji XPro2 + 3 lenses. Nice small set up.
I challenged myself to shoot mostly with the 50mm (75mm on the XPro2) which is very much not the norm for street shooting.
Unfortunately the weather was pretty awful. So it became quite a challenge. I've definitely had better days, but still, it's all good
There's no other way of putting it. This January is a post-Christmas, post-Iceland, self assessment, no work dick. So in an attempt to motivate myself to do more than editing, accounts & emails, I've taken to putting myself in front of the camera for vlogging and self portraits.
Fuji XPro 2 + 23mm f2
So I spent the day with Zella as she was feeling unwell. And I suddenly realised something: last year I didn't photograph her much. Which made me sad.
So 2018 I'm gonna shoot my favourite subject wayyyyy more, because she is simply the most perfect human to me and one day she'll be able to tell me to get lost when I try to take her photo, lol.
2 weeks ago I hadn't planned to be in Iceland on Christmas Day but things got a bit impulsive and here we are! Fancied an easy day so we did the Golden Circle tour. Lovely day, took a few pics with the Fuji XPro 2 along the way. 4 hours daylight is weird.
Now time for dinner. See ya!

it's a nice day and I had an hour before the school run.
Something oddly satisfying about this plastic fork on the pavement.
Or I'm just weird...
School run, love having the Fuji in the car for moments like this
Fuji X Pro 2 + 35mm f2
Dropped the youngling off to school, went for a walk with Flynn on the beach before heading to Starbucks for a day of editing.
Had the X Pro 2 with me so grabbed a few pics.
It's a Saturday and I have given myself the day off. So obviously with nothing better to do, I decide to visit a mate and take the X Pro 2.
It was refreshing to just grab some nothing Street shots. These were shot on the Fuji and wifi'd direct to my iPhone for a quick VSCO edit and uploaded.
Howdy, so I've got the blogging app on my phone now which means I can just drop a quick life update in here so much easier than having to open the laptop up!
And I thought that while I had a few minutes spare I'd share a few of my Polaroid shots from Lisbon.
i hadn't intended on buying a Polaroid, but a random trip into Norwich with Matt and I spot the new Polaroid One Step 2 in the window of a camera shop. After a few minutes of deliberation and trying to talk myself out of it, I eventually caved and bought it for £109. Plus 2 packs of film at £15 each roughly.
I'll probably do a video review of it eventually but for now let's just say that it's cool, and I just spent £118 on film (Black Friday deals ftw!)

Looking up from the LX Factory in Lisbon
I love the results b&w gives
That's Rob on a chair for no particular reason
This shot sums up the camera. I didn't have much time to consider this shot, so I just trusted the camera to get the shot. And it nailed it.
The light in Lisbon was beautiful
Well obviously I was having too much of a good time taking a pics, eating and drinking to update a blog! Flew out Monday, just got back to the UK: a 4 day trip, and a thoroughly awesome one at that. Lots to say, lots to share. Experiences with my Fuji & Polaroid. For now, here's another pic!
So I'm in Lisbon, with some photography buds, a Fuji and a Polaroid. And it's all so good! Never been before, loving the food, the weather (25 degrees in November, nice) and the old streets.
I'll have a lot of pics to share, but for now here's a favourite from Day 2. I asked if I could take a photo of her dog. And I ended up with this piece of magic.
